Mosque to go up near New York's ground zero
This is rather ridiculous, just because you have less than 1% radicalized Muslims out of 1.5 Billion in the world, the Constitutional Freedom of Religion we have in America is being challenged! So, should we have banned the building of Catholic Churches when the USA was fighting the Mafia? Should we have banned Lutheran Churches during the war with Germany? Should we have stopped the building of Buddhist Temples during the war with Japan?
This idea of Islam and Muslims being part of the "War on Terror" is not right. As a nation, we are not supposed to be at war with a religion (Islam). This is against our own constitution and the American way. By showing such "concern" over the building of a Mosque, we as a nation are turning a blind eye to the Constitution. Regardless of 911, Islam and Muslims are not at fault...however a small band of renegades who call themselves Muslims along with others may be at fault. But to condemn a whole religion and it's followers based on the act of less than 1% of 1.5 Billion Muslims is not fair or just. We as a nation should be setting the example of religious freedom and not become the example of religious intolerance.
Terrorism is un-Islamic....I suggest reading a book called "Islam Denounces Terrorism": www.islamdenouncesterrorism.com
Now, the RAND Corporation–the incredibly influential nonprofit global policy think tank (financed by the U.S. government)–has released a report that confirms that the threat of jihadist terrorism in the United States has been heavily exaggerated. The report documents and analyzes acts of terrorism in the U.S. from 9/11 to the end of 2009.
All this said and done...
